How to connect Instagram
Instagram only lets an app publish for you when the account is a professional account linked to a Facebook Page. That's Meta's rule, not Postaro's. You do it once, in about 5 minutes, and never touch it again.
Part 1: get your Instagram ready
Switch your Instagram to a professional account
In the Instagram app: your profile → ☰ menu → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account. It can be Business or Creator. It's free and changes nothing for your followers.
Have a Facebook Page for your business
If you don't have one yet, create it with the name of your practice, office or brand. You don't need to post anything on it: it's just the bridge between Instagram and Postaro.

Link your Instagram to that Page
In the Instagram app: Edit profile → Page → choose your business Page. You need to be an admin of the Page. If your Instagram already shows as linked, you can skip this.

Part 2: connect it on Postaro
Click Connect Instagram
On Postaro, open Settings → Instagram and click Connect Instagram. Meta's official window opens.
Log in with the Facebook account that manages the Page
That's the personal Facebook account of whoever created or manages the Page. Postaro never sees your password.
Tick only the right Page and Instagram account
Meta shows a list of Pages and then a list of Instagram accounts. Tick only your business Page and only the Instagram account Postaro will publish to. If you manage other Pages, leave them unticked.
Keep the permissions on and confirm
You're taken back to Postaro with your Instagram connected. Postaro only asks for what it needs to publish and show your post results: it doesn't read messages or touch ads.
Something went wrong?
You connected the wrong Instagram, or the right one isn't in the list
This happens if you manage more than one Page: Meta remembers your previous choice and doesn't ask again. To choose again:
- Open Facebook's Business integrations(opens in a new tab).
- Find Postaro and click Remove. This only undoes the authorisation: nothing is deleted on Instagram or Postaro.
- Go back to Postaro, click Reconnect and tick the right Page and Instagram account.
If your Instagram still doesn't show up, it isn't linked to a Page you manage yet. Go back to step 3.
“It must be a professional account linked to a Page”
Meta didn't find any professional Instagram account on the Pages you ticked. Check steps 1 to 3 and, in Meta's window, tick the Page linked to your Instagram.
“A permission is missing”
A permission was switched off in Meta's window. Click Reconnect and keep them all on. If the window doesn't ask again, remove Postaro under Business integrations(opens in a new tab) and connect again.
“The connection expired”
Meta switches off the authorisation when you change your Facebook password, remove Postaro or go a long time without reconnecting. Click Reconnect under Settings → Instagram. Your scheduled posts stay in the queue.
